Using prior knowledge to build neural representations, make predictions, and encode memories
March 12, 2024 | 4 pm | ZOOM Meeting-ID: 775 491 0236
Our everyday experiences consist of familiar sequences of events in familiar contexts, and we use our memories of the past to understand the present and make predictions about the future. This prior knowledge can consist of specific past episodes, multiple memories linked together, or schematic mental models that have been distilled from many past experiences. Read more >>

Would you have one word to give as a gift to other women and, more generally, to young aspiring scientists, women or men? My advice would be, “Take risks. Don't be afraid. Really take risks.” And if it fails, you still learn a lot. You grow personally and professionally. Life is full of surprises, and taking risks might lead to success. Who knows, maybe it will work.

Nervennahrung – wie das Gehirn Appetit kontrolliert
March 14, 2024 | 19:30 | Zeiss Großplanetarium, Prenzlauer Allee 80, 10405 Berlin (in German)
Du bist, was Du isst, sagt ein Sprichwort. Doch wieso isst Du, was Du isst?
